A letter from our publisher
For 136 years, the El Dorado News-Times has been Union County’s most trusted source for the stories that matter. When a community has a strong, independent local newspaper, it’s not just informed – it’s connected.
Like many newspapers across the nation, the News-Times has felt the financial pressures of a rapidly changing media landscape. Even while operating at a loss, our family has continued to invest in the paper because we know what’s at stake. Without local journalism, crime increases, government accountability fades and citizens lose access to the information they need to make informed decisions.
That’s why we are launching the El Dorado News-Times Community Journalism Project — a dedicated effort to expand local reporting and ensure no important story goes untold.
Your support will directly fund the essential coverage that keeps our community informed, engaged and connected. It will help us shine a light on important issues, celebrate local voices and preserve the stories and traditions that make Union County unique.
Our family has been committed to the News-Times for generations because we believe a strong community depends on strong local journalism. But its future ultimately depends on you. Together, we can ensure the News-Times remains a trusted voice for many years to come.
